Carla graduated with honors from the Sports Injury Management Program at Sheridan College. She is an experienced therapist with extensive knowledge in manual therapy, and sport biomechanics. During her career she has been employed with a variety of high performance organizations including the Royal Military College, Carleton University, The Ottawa High Performance Center, and Mind to Muscle: Mississauga.

Carla has obtained continuing education in Soft Tissue Release, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulations, Muscle Energy and Myofascial Release of the Pelvis and Lumbar Spine. She has also provided orthotic and bracing consulting through Kinemedics Ottawa.

Jean graduated as a Sheridan Scholar from the Sports Injury Management program at Sheridan College. She holds a BSc in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario and an MSc in Rehabilitation Science from McMaster University. Her thesis work, which focused on motor control of the neck following mild whiplash injuries and the effect of neck conditions on functional arm movements, was recently presented at a lectureship held at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and at the Canadian Physiotherapist Association Orthopaedic Symposium. This research has direct clinical implications for treating a variety of athletes while concurrently providing direction for rehabilitation programs.

Jean has been involved with high level sport and exercise for the majority of her life and has experienced the frustrations associated with debilitating sports injuries. Tired of not getting results in her own recovery, she has actively pursued knowledge of the sports injury and rehabilitation process. She has applied her skills to working with high performance sporting organizations such as the Royal Military College, University of Waterloo, The University of Western Ontario, McMaster University and Sheridan College.

Jean is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). This elite-level certification combined with her educational background ensures that clients of all ages receive a sports-specific program that is both safe and effective. Jean also has continuing education in Visceral Manipulation, and multiple strength and conditioning courses.

In addition to her field and clinical work Jean has published a textbook on Sports Injury Assessment and Rehabilitation and assisted in the development of an on-line learning tool for students in sports injury management. She has produced research articles on the effectiveness of ultrasound as a therapeutic modality, as well as research and learning tools for the Anne Hartley Agency in Toronto. Her educational, professional and research experiences have helped shape her desire to see active people overcome their physical challenges that result from injury. Her passion is helping others achieve their goals – no matter the obstacles.

Megan Baerg

Megan graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy with a diploma in Massage Therapy. She is currently a Registered Massage Therapist with the CMTO (College of Massage Therapists of Ontario), OMTA (Ontario Massage Therapists Association), and the CSMTA (Canadian Sport Massage Therapists Association) as a Certified Candidate working towards her National Certification.

Megan brings almost ten years of experience in the field of orthopaedic and sports massage therapy. Her experiences range from treating “week end warriors”, junior and varsity athletes to elite and professional athletes. Megan’s integrated holistic approach to healthcare allows her to identify the cause of the problem and not simply treat the symptoms. She has been involved with various events, providing a combination of pre and post sport massage therapy as well as on field medical coverage.

Megan’s passion and commitment to ongoing learning has her currently working on her International Sports Massage Diploma. She is the only therapist in the region currently pursuing her national sport certification through the CSMTA. In addition to pursuing her National Certification, Megan is a certified Sport First Responder.

Her continuing education courses include: athletic taping, functional muscle assessment, functional movement screening and corrections, and various courses designed to build sport specific power and strength as well as dynamic warm up training. Being an athlete herself, she understands the unique needs and demands of the athlete and continually strives to meet these needs. She provides an in depth understanding and knowledge of performance sport related injuries and accidents. Megan is often consulted and sought after by elite organizations within the sports community and has greatly assisted many athletes to return to their former status after major injuries
